Hello,
guys that are accompanying our project! First, thank you for the support and
cheering! Second, sorry I'm late! The last few weeks of the project are being a
rush. I even got a sore throat .. I must be talking too much. I’m very fussy
with my students. I say and repeat several times until they understand what
must be done. I know that my students can give the best of themselves, and they
even will be surprised by their capabilities. If I didn’t believe them, I would
not be doing all of this. Besides, I believe that education, as I daily tell
them, is the only way for social raise. With studies, students are much more
likely to compete in the Labor Market. Nowadays, dominate the technological
tools, and speak a second language such as English , are prerequisites for
getting a good job. Education is the greatest wealth that our parents and
teachers can give us, as this is for life, and no one can ever take us out. Talking
about the future, in the next few weeks we’ll have a Lecture about Professions,
which Univille will do in our school.
Now,
let’s check the 'summary' of the recent activities:

I gave the students the schedule with the steps of our project.

. I also gave the document to my principles, requesting information about
events that occurred in school this year in order to assemble the timeline for
our Yearbook.

. For the 6th year, we are creating a song about the routine, and I gave the
text " How to create a dance routine”, by Treva Bedinghaus, extracted from
the website: About.com Guide.

. When the American postcards arrived (on September, 20th), the 5th year was
the first group who had access to them.

. On October 7, Monday, we took pictures and filmed with the classes of the
evening at Teacher Eladir Skibinski School.
Unfortunately
, I had the misfortune to 'lose' my memory card, which was full of photos of
the classes, the students working on the project and activities, and some
filming. Therefore, I don’t have many photos to post here. Lucky me that the
company “Pé de Nuvem” is making the photos, and I got another card, and I'm
recovering some photographers and earlier filmed moments.

. The last few weeks have been quite busy. Students delivered, every class, more
collections of our action ‘Among Friends’. It was not easy to take care of it
all! I’m glad I had support from some coworkers. What I did more, this month,
was running behind gifts for my children. As I realized that some were really
dedicated in the sale of raffle ticket, I wanted to find a way to compensate
for the dedication of those who have committed to sell. I was behind some 50
shops and businesses, and received several " no's ". But, thank God,
what comfort us are the few " yes ", sincere and welcoming we have
received on our journey. I want to leave here my sincere thanks to all involved
for their dedication and appreciation of our work. Below is a list of all the
ones that collaborated, the supporting and sponsors companies, and the students
with their gifts. For all students who sold the Actions', I gave a copy of an
American postcard as a gift, and a
message for them and their families. I want to leave my thanks to the “Jovem
Pan Radio”, who gave us many tickets to the Auto Show, stickers, t-shirts and
even a school backpack for our Action. I won a promotion from the radio to call
there, and got 2 tickets to go to the event. Thankfully, they gave me many
others, that I raffled for my students who sold the Actions. I loved knowing
the radio. It is a different and interesting place. I even took a picture
sitting in the studio! Total collected: R$ 1722,05 (We payed the documentary, to "Estúdio Pé de Nuvem").

. Besides distributing the craft and a copy of the newspaper report, I also made
a "visiting card" more "abridged" about my project, to
facilitate reading and understanding by all.
8 . I made a recording of the documentary script for my students, and another with several questions to be answered , that I sent to teacher Rebekah. She is now producing videos and activities with her student .

. Some of the activities sent by teacher Rebekah, of her 5th graders, are the
Comics about their routine, and the professions they wish to follow. Soon after
the lecture of Univille, my students will do this activity.

. At this time, students from 6th year are finalizing the lyrics about
their routines and rehearsing the dance. To facilitate their work, I gave a
model of how they would do the work, as well as examples of other activities
related to the subject.
11 . The next steps
are to finalize the songs, finish the recordings for the documentary, do the
activity about profession , put the work together in 'books' or folders, make
the album art, and print the activities at the printer. Thank God, we gotsupport
from Brunswick company, which will provide us all the materials we need. The
Brunswick Boat Group, the largest manufacturer of pleasure boats in the world,
opened its first factory in Brazil.

. With other classes from 3rd to 5th, I did different activities in the last classes.
For all, in a circle, I showed all the materials of the United States: Photos
of the routine, school, students, Americans school buses, the postcards
produced by them, the menus of the breakfast and American lunch, evaluations, flag of the USA,
etc. With this, I proposed different activities between the classes, which are
under development. In the future, when they are finalized, I'll post the
photos.
Invitation for the American students, to visit our blog
The
comparisons and conclusions of the students regarding various aspects were very
interesting, as the feeding factor, which in the American school they eat more
fatty and caloric foods, and infrequently in physical activity. Americans have
only 40 minutes of exercise per week, and our Brazilian students have 3 classes
of 45 or 48 minutes, depending on the school. In other words, our students exercise
almost 3 times more than Americans.
Another
observed aspect was the period in the school. Here in Joinville is 4 hours for
the early grades, and 4 hours and 15 minutes for Final Series. Finally, the
students are and will find several different things. If I tell you more, will
lose grace. Expect more posts and news! Very soon, we will finish the project!
We have about 20 days of work ahead of us, I believe. At the end of it all,
I'll take all the classes in the Computer Lab, and they will answer to a
questionnaire here on my blog, about everything we have seen, studied, and
learned with the project. It will be a review and a way to assess what has been
learned! Even a Yearbook, like those American movies, directly from the state
of Virginia, I got with my colleague Fabio Rodrigues, who kindly lent me his High
School album, when he was an exchange student in High School, in 2007, in the
United States.
13 . Oh, just to let
you know that our Brazilians postcards arrived in Stanleytown Elementary School
in the past week!

Olá, pessoal que acompanha nosso projeto!
Primeiramente, obrigada pelo apoio e torcida! Em segundo, desculpem meu atraso!
As últimas semanas de projeto estão sendo bem corridas. Até fiquei com dor de
garganta.. Devo estar falando demais. Sou muito exigente com meus alunos. Digo
e repito várias vezes, até todos entenderem o que deve ser feito. Sei que meus
alunos podem dar o melhor de si, e que até eles se surpreenderão com suas
capacidades. Se não acreditasse neles, não estaria fazendo tudo isso. Além
disso, acredito que a educação, como falo diariamente, é a única forma de
ascensão social. Com estudos, os alunos têm muito mais chances de competir no
Mercado de Trabalho. Atualmente, dominar as ferramentas tecnológicas, e falar
uma Segunda Língua, como o inglês, são condições indispensáveis para conseguir
um bom emprego. Educação é a maior riqueza que nossos pais e professores podem
nos dar, pois esta é para a vida inteira, e ninguém nunca poderá nos tirar.
Falando em futuro, nas próximas semanas teremos Palestra sobre Profissões, que
a Univille fará na nossa escola.
Agora, vamos ao ‘resumo’ das últimas atividades
desenvolvidas:
1. Entreguei para os alunos o cronograma com as
etapas do nosso projeto.
2. Também entreguei documento para minhas
diretoras, solicitando informações sobre eventos que ocorreram na escola
durante este ano, para montarmos a Linha do Tempo para nosso Yearbook.
3. Para os 6os anos, que estão criando
uma música sobre a rotina, entreguei o texto "Como criar uma rotina de
dança", de Treva Bedinghaus, extraído do site: Guia About.com.
4. Quando os postais americanos chegaram (no dia 20
de Setembro), o 5º ano A foi a primeira turma que teve acesso a eles;
5. No dia 7 de Outubro, 2ª feira, fizemos gravações
e tiramos fotos com as turmas do período vespertino da E.M. profª Eladir
Skibinski.
Infelizmente, tive a infelicidade de ‘perder’ meu
cartão de memória, que estava cheio de fotos das turmas, dos alunos trabalhando
em atividades e no projeto, e algumas filmagens. Por isso, não tenho muitas fotos
para postar aqui. Sorte a minha que a empresa Pé de Nuvem está fazendo as
fotos, e eu consegui outro cartão, e já estou recuperando alguns momentos
fotógrafos e filmados anteriormente.
6. As
últimas semanas foram muito corridas. Os alunos entregavam, a cada aula, mais
arrecadações da nossa Ação entre Amigos. Não foi fácil cuidar de tudo isso!
Ainda bem que tive apoio de alguns colegas de trabalho. O que mais fiz, este
mês, foi correr atrás de brindes para minhas crianças. Como percebi que alguns
estavam realmente se dedicando na venda das rifas, quis encontrar uma maneira
de compensar a dedicação dos que se comprometeram a vender. Fui atrás de umas
50 lojas e empresas, e recebi vários "nãos". Mas, graças a Deus, o
que nos conforta são os poucos "sim", sinceros e acolhedores que
recebemos em nossa jornada. Quero deixar aqui meu sincero agradecimento a todos
os envolvidos pela dedicação e valorização de nosso trabalho. Abaixo segue a
lista de todos que colaboraram, o apoio e as empresas patrocinadoras, e os
alunos com seus brindes. Para todos os alunos que venderam as Ações, dei uma
cópia de um cartão postal americano de presente, e uma mensagem para eles e
suas famílias. Quero deixar meu agradecimento à Rádio Jovem Pan, que nos cedeu
diversos ingressos para o Salão do Automóvel, adesivos, camisetas e até uma
mochila escolar para nossa Ação. Eu ganhei uma promoção da rádio, ao ligar para
lá, e consegui 2 ingressos para ir ao evento. Ainda bem que eles me deram
muitos outros, que sorteei para meus alunos que venderam as Ações. Adorei conhecer
a rádio. É um lugar diferente e interessante. Até tirei foto sentada no
estúdio! Total arrecadado: R$ 1722,05 (Nós pagamos o documentário, para "Estúdio Pé de Nuvem").
7. Além de distribuir ofício e cópia da reportagem
do jornal, também fiz um "cartão de vista" mais "resumido"
sobre meu projeto, para facilitar a leitura e entendimento por todos.
8. Fiz um roteiro de gravação do documentário para
meus alunos, e outro com diversas questões para serem respondidas, que enviei
para teacher Rebekah. Ela já está produzindo os vídeos e atividades com os
alunos.
9. Algumas das atividades enviadas pela teacher
Rebekah, de seus alunos do 5º ano, são a Comics (História em Quadrinhos) sobre
a rotina deles, e as profissões que desejam seguir. Logo após a palestra da
Univille, meus alunos farão esta atividade.
10. Neste momento, os alunos do 6º ano estão
finalizando as letras da música sobre suas rotinas, e ensaiando a dança. Para
facilitar o trabalho deles, levei modelo de como gostaria que eles fizessem o
trabalho, além de exemplos de outras atividades relacionadas ao assunto.
11. Os próximos passos são: finalizar as músicas,
terminar as gravações para o documentário, fazer a atividade sobre profissões,
juntar os trabalhos em ‘livros’ ou pastas, fazer a arte do álbum, e imprimir as
atividades na gráfica. Graças a Deus, conseguimos apoio da empresa Brunswick,
que irá nos fornecer todos os materiais que precisamos. O “Brunswick Boat Group”
é o maior fabricante de barcos de lazer do mundo, e inaugura sua primeira
fábrica no Brasil.
12. Com as outras turmas do 3º ao 5º, fiz
atividades diferenciadas nas últimas aulas. Para todas, em círculo, mostrei
todos os materiais sobre os Estados Unidos: Fotos da rotina, da escola, dos
alunos, dos ônibus escolares americanos, os cartões postais produzidos por
eles, cardápios do café da manhã e almoço americanos, avaliações, bandeira dos
Estados Unidos, etc. Com isso, propus atividades diferenciadas entre as turmas,
que estão em desenvolvimento. Futuramente, quando estiverem finalizadas, eu
posto as fotos.
As comparações e conclusões dos alunos a respeito
de diversos aspectos foram bem interessantes, como o fator alimentação, que na
escola americana eles comem comidas mais gordurosas e calóricas, e pouca
regularidade na atividade física. Os americanos possuem apenas 40 minutos de
exercícios por semana, e nossos alunos brasileiros têm 3 aulas de 45 ou 48 minutos,
dependendo da escola. Ou seja, nossos alunos se exercitam quase 3 vezes mais
que os americanos.
Outro aspecto observado foi o período de
permanência na escola. Aqui em Joinville são 4 horas para as Séries Iniciais, e
4 horas e 15 minutos, para as Séries Finais. Enfim, os alunos estão e irão descobrir
várias coisas diferentes. Se eu contar mais, vai perder a graça. Aguardem mais
postagens e novidades! Logo, logo, encerraremos o projeto! Temos uns 20 dias de
trabalho pela frente, acredito. Ao final de tudo, levarei todas as turmas na
Sala Informatizada, e elas responderão a um Questionário aqui no meu blog, a
respeito de tudo o que vimos, estudamos, e aprendemos com o projeto. Será uma
revisão e uma forma de avaliar tudo o que foi aprendido! Até mesmo um Yearbook
(Anuário Fotográfico), como aqueles de filmes americanos, diretamente do estado
da Virgínia, eu consegui com meu colega Fábio Oliveira, que gentilmente me
emprestou seu álbum do High School, quando fez intercâmbio no Ensino Médio, em
2007, nos Estados Unidos.
13. Ah, só para avisar que nossos postais
brasileiros chegaram na Stanleytown Elementary School na semana passada!
